How
to Measure for a Prong Collar
Prong
collars are ordered by link size (small, medium
and large), not length, and are adjusted by adding or subtracting
links.
A
prong collar should never be put over the dogs' head. You place
it on your dog by squeezing two links apart, placing the collar
around the dog's neck and then squeezing the links back together.
With
the traditional prong, you have the option
of connecting your leash to the dead ring (the leash is connected
to both rings) or live ring (the leash is connected to only
one ring or the swivel connector). Our German Style
prongs are put on and off with an easy snap bolt connection
and work the same as a prong on the dead ring. The collar should
be fitted snuggly (not tight) high on the dog's neck behind
the ears.
